About the Writer
Beyond the skills and experience of a lifetime of creating stories on a page, a screen, a stage, a marketplace or in thin air, I bring a particular perspective to the act of communication.
It is formed from many vantage points: sitting in the middle of Security Council deliberations on the collapse of the Soviet bloc of nations; standing in the back of a theater on the opening night of a new musical; running from the eighth floor of 4 World Trade Center on September 11, 2001; speaking from the inside of a poem; joining with the President of Burundi for the announcement of a new coffee price that gave impoverished farmers income to feed their families; explaining what happened from the Wall Street epicenter of the worst global financial crisis in 70 years; and advocating on behalf of local children who struggle to simply survive the day.
