Keep the Remington Flyers Running
The Remington Flyers Track Club started with six athletes and a whole community of hope in April, 1986. What began as an idea, soon became a landmark program unique in its mission and unmatched in its achievements. The Club has created opportunities for personal, educational and social growth for hundreds of young people, ranging in age from 7 to 14, who have accepted the challenge of “running with the Flyers toward the future.”
In 21 years, the Flyers have developed many outstanding athletes -- champions on the local, regional and national level. The program, however, goes far beyond track & field excellence; it develops each person's special talents, focusing more on the real value of personal commitment and shared effort in reaching clear goals and less on winning the event. The Remington Flyers take great pride in their many "graduates" who have gone on to fine colleges and universities in addition to becoming contributing members of their community.
A remarkable group of young people needs your help to take the Flyers all the way through the qualifying meets and on to the National AAU Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee. It takes hard work, dedication and your donations to make this possible. Last year your generous contributions helped the Flyers produce medal winners at the Junior Olympics in Norfolk, Virginia, and scholarship winners at the Colgate Women’s Games.
Every year mounting a season is an act of faith – faith in the young people, the parents, the coaches and most of all you. If you have helped the team in past years, the boys & girls of the Flyers Track Club are very, very grateful. And this year they need your support more than ever. Share their pride and achievement by contributing whatever you can to help these kids run as far as their dreams and courage will take them.
